WHAT IS TPD?
The Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) is the European Union’s primary legislative framework governing the manufacture, presentation, and sale of tobacco products and related products, including electronic cigarettes and refill containers. The UK Tobacco and Related Products Regulations (TRPR) was originally implemented to transpose the EU TPD into UK law and, following Brexit, continues to operate as retained domestic legislation.
